The MountOne & Astrographs were developed with Bambu Lab PLA-CF. Final testing and checks were performed with Bambu Lab PETG-CF. Parts were printed using E3D's A1 Series High Flow ObXidian 0.4mm Nozzle. I recommend PETG-CF for the MountOne and Astrographs.

If you hope to develop MountOne yourself, or would like to help support my further development of the MountOne, detailed drawings, datasheets, STEP files and more are available by downloading the MountOne CAD Packs & ordering MountOne Hardware Kits.

Each STL file is named with an x1, x2 ,x3 etc at the end to indicate the number of printed parts required. For the 100MM Astrograph, only one print of each part is required.

You'll need.

  • ~0.9kg of PETG-CF Black.
  • ~0.2kg of PETG-CF Red.

Specific printing recommendations for each part is provided below.

Calibration

Some parts require calibration before printing. Please refer to the MountOne Calibration Documentation for details.

M1-100MM-3GT-64T-55.xxx1.stl

I highly recommend changing the Wall generator from Classic to Arachne for the pulleys. It helps massively with the teeth profiles by removing short extrusion. Enable this option in the advanced menu.

Note the orientation, teeth down.

Place seams in the provided channels. This ensures consistent mating surfaces with bearings etc.

Another seam in the teeth, again this reduces any possible artifacts on the teeth profiles.

M1-100MM-FOCUS-72.xxx1.stl

Seam position for the bearing pocket.

Internal seam placed along the tallest face.

External seam to keep artifacts off the outer faces.

M1-100MM-FOCUS-CAP-55.xxx1.stl

Seam for the bearing.

M1-100MM-FOCUS-HQC-72.xxx1.stl

Seam for the bearing.

Outer seam.

M1-100MM-FOCUS-COVERx1.stl

Long external seam on the outer inward facing face.

The requirement for supports in this part are purely included in the design to provide an exception to the rule of no supports in the design of the MountOne. And to support the print.

M1-100MM-FOCUS-MOTORx1.stl

M1-100MM0FOCUS-TENSIONx1.stl

I have set the seam to 'random' for this part.

M1-100MM-RPIx1.stl

Seams along the inside of the tall arms.

And on the external edge.

Seams on the GPS supports.

M1-100MMx1.stl

Seams placed on the two fixture points.

M1-100MM-COVERx1.stl

A single seam on the inside of the cover, note the two smaller seams either side of the two fixture points.
